Dad is almost on board for this lovely specimen. My life shall never be the same if I get it. Gonna feel all important and what not.

watch out that engine doesn't have a knock. Seen enough AJ16's run the bottom end right out of them, even with good servicing.

Best believe. Was up literally til 4am doing research on this car. Found all things to look out for and great maintenance guides.

well, the price is sure nice. I had an X308 Vanden Plas some years ago. If you do get it and end up needing wheel bearings, I'll do the bearings for $80 and ship them out to you. I still have the tool to loosen the tone ring/bearing holder. Without it it is impossible. Jag charges $700 a wheel...

Have a friend who is spoiled rich, and he drives one of these whenever he wants to go downtown. It's in immaculate condition (they pay someone to take care of it). Driving it feels like what a stainless steel fountain pen feels when you write.
Except he drives like a complete ass, because he's a complete ass.

Thank you for the heads up. I will try to keep this in mind. If I get the car it will be posted in photoshoot form of and you can gladly remind me there as well.

Shame. This isn't that type of car at all. It's one that simply has the power when needed, it's not meant to be abused. He ever let you drive it?

We're talking about the ~400HP early 2000s XJR, right? I am, at least. They really do have force behind them. I never got to drive it myself but it's not hard to feel how a car drives when you ride in the passenger seat enough. Butt dyno and all that. The car matches his father, who is one of those self-starter "I came to this country with XXX and paid my way through business school and started my own businesses" rich guys.
